Marika Jakas is the First Counsellor and Head of the Trade and Economic Section of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam.


Marika joined the EU Delegation to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam on 1 September 2020.


Before, from September 2016 to August 2020 she worked as Head of the Trade and Economic Section of the European Union Delegation to India.


She has worked for the European Commission in the Directorate-General for Trade since 2005. Her responsibilities covered trade relations with South Korea, including the implementation of the EU-South Korea Free Trade Agreement. She also worked as Head of Section for Trade Defence Investigations, overseeing several anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations.


Between 2003 and 2005 she worked in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture, where she was responsible for audits of EU agricultural expenditure.


M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration (University of Tampere, Finland).

In this event, Marika will talk about the EU-Indonesia CEPA negotiations, state of play, and expected benefits for EU and Indonesian companies.
